Dear Potbuilder Poker Family,
I wanted everyone that plays Potbuilder Poker to know that you have all helped someone whether you know it or not. Within the Potbuilder Poker family there are some great people to get to know. We are not just poker players; we are people with lives and struggles who just happen to have a great game in common. I just wanted everyone to know you have all helped me in one way or another. I could list names but there are new people being added to the list every day. All that being said I would like to share a personal experience with you all.
I had heard many times from other people that they hit a low spot in life, but I was so sure that couldn’t happen to me. As I was staring down the dark well that had become my life, trying to gauge how deep it was, I placed my hand on a deck of cards. From that point on playing poker became an escape for me. I could bury my mind and troubles into the game and good company.
There was an occasion in particular when I realized poker wasn’t just my escape, but a community. A place of friends where I could be myself without the problems. That particular night when I was leaving the bar, it was a long game, and I was thinking about my play. Not paying much attention to what I was doing, I stumbled walking out of the location. I was sober, however Vang happened to be in his car and saw me. Now most people would have turned a blind eye and gone about their business, but not Vang. He took a few moments of his time to make sure I was ok and able to get into my car. Thank you Vang I really appreciate that.
Now that things have settled down a bit, looking back I am glad I had poker in that rough time. Both the game and the company of good people. It helped me when I needed it most and I hope it will help each one of you as well.
Thank you everyone!
Yours Truly,
